Herein these pages are many ancient songs as sung at FALO gathers. This tome includes only songs that I believe to be several hundred years old. Singing these songs has helped put us in a mood to relive ancient times or at least our romanticized versions of those times where life is full of adventure, friendship is a strong bond, the truth is simple and everything is just plain fun.

Of course, songs change over time and there are probably other legitimate versions of these songs. I have even switched the version I use on a couple songs when I have found one I liked better. I have preferred versions that seem truer to the time period; though I must admit I have not delved too deep into the research of authenticity. The older the version of a song, the more likely it is to contain words that are no longer in use, and I don’t mind having versions where I understand what is being sung about without learning a whole new language.

It is my hope that others will enjoy the songs listed here and make it easier for those wishing to find older songs suitable for a renaissance gathering or faire.
